1. Find out and set down some basic concepts of Buddhism -- "the Four Noble Truths" would be a good place to start your Google search if you are using the internet as a research tool. A wise philosopher once wrote (to paraphrase) that Buddhism "promises nothing and delivers everything." What do you suppose he might have meant by that, based on what you discover about Buddhism?

2. What virtues may be derived from the selected stories about the Buddha's previous incarnations? How does he view himself in relation to others? How does he deal with those who don't treat him kindly?
